Well that's a shitty news to wake up to on a Christmas morning. The hardest working man in show business, the Godfather of Soul, Mister Jaaaaaaames Brown has left the building.
But that's not all he's left. There's also his legacy. The man has single-handedly invented funk music. And out of the hundreds of songs he wrote, sang or produced there's at least a dozen that have become a part of the culture.
But that's not the only way in which he has reshaped our world. He also played a key role in the civil rights movement and whatever progress has been made in racial equality in the U.S. probably wouldn't have been made without him.
I was lucky enough to see him live about twelve years ago, and even though his heyday was decades before that he still delivered a fantastic show.
Soul Power!
