Welcome to the new installment of our Friday's Playlists! It's been a year since we've done one of these, and for the new year one of our resolutions is to get back to a more regular Playlist schedule. But with 150 entries, it's a little hard to find new themes... Stay tuned!
This Friday's Playlist is essentially the soundtrack to our 2024 Concert Recap and aims to capture the sound of our 2024 concert year through Blues, Metal, Funk, Punk, Country, Folk, or Jazz. It’s chronological, with sharp turns and no apologies—just how we like it.
You’ll see some artists featured twice. There's a simple explanation for that: we've covered their shows twice. In Eric Clapton's case, twice in a row. We’ve mostly stuck to songs from the artists' current albums, unless the tour was tied to a classic (like Nas marking 30 years of Illmatic or Slipknot celebrating 25 years of their debut album). For Dark Star Orchestra, it had to be a Grateful Dead tune obviously.
