It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since the world lost Jeff Beck. The shock of his passing still lingers—he wasn’t on anyone’s death pool. Just months before, he was as vibrant and dexterous as ever, playing with the energy, precision and subtlety of someone half his age. But of course, despite his youthful looks (helped by that absolutely improbable wig), the man was nearing eighty.
Beck was a restless innovator who never settled or rested on his laurels. He constantly explored new musical styles and redefined what the guitar could do, crafting a legacy that earned him the title of "your favorite guitarist’s favorite guitarist." From fusion to blues to rock, he transcended genres, inspiring legends like John McLaughlin, Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani, Billy Gibbons, Les Paul, Brian May, and Ritchie Blackmore. In every corner of the guitar world, Beck was the gold standard—an artist’s artist. It's a cruel twist of fate that his passing came seven year to the day after the death of one-time collaborator and equally innovative artist David Bowie.
For us, he wasn’t just a guitar hero; he was our favorite guitarist. We were fortunate enough to see him live several times, and the memories of those performances remain unforgettable. You can find links below to photos, reviews, setlists, and videos from some of those incredible shows:
